Insect Genetic Technologies Research Coordination Network Begins

On April 1 the NSF-funded project Insect Genetic Technologies Research Coordination Network began

This is a 5-year project designed to advance the development and dissemination of insect genetic technologies.  The development and application of functional genomics tools for what traditionally have been referred to a 'non-model' insect has not kept pace with the availability of genome sequence data.  The IGTRCN will organize and sponsor symposia and meetings, develop and offer a course on insect genetic technologies, sponsor training and collaborations and aggregate knowledge about insect genetic technologies to facilitate research.
